Do you Remember all God’s Done for you?

“Remember the instruction you gave your servant Moses, saying, ‘If you are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the nations, but if you return to me and obey my commands, then even if your exiled people are at the farthest horizon, I will gather them from there and bring them to the place I have chosen as a dwelling for my Name.’”

“They are your servants and your people, whom you redeemed by your great strength and your mighty hand. Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of this your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name. Give your servant success today by granting him favor in the presence of this man.”  Nehemiah 1:8-11

After repentance, Nehemiah’s prayer centers on God remember what you said. If we sin you will scatter us, and you did. But in v.9 if we turn to you and obey you, God you will call us to you again. Remember Father and he lists three things:

1)Of His Promises—(v.8-9)

Lord, you promised if we turn to you and obey you would deliver us.

It’s important in prayer to quote scripture. Not to remind God but to settle it in our hearts.

Lord, you said, “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Lord, you said, “Call unto me in the day of trouble,”

Lord, you said “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:”

The promises reassure us.

2)Of His Power—(v.10) “Thy great power.

When we pray we’re not only talking to our heavenly father, but also the God of everything. He said that in V.4.

Oh, God can’t deliver America—we’re hopeless. He delivered Israel at the Red Sea. God can’t save my husband, or wayward child—oh really, God delivered Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, God delivered Daniel. God even saved Nebuchadnezzar, an evil king.

3)Of His Plans—(v.11)“who desire to fear thy name: and prosper,”

That reminds me of what God told the prophet Jeremiah: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

God wants to bless us. God wants us to walk in victory. God’s plans are that we live Holy, happy lives and point the way to Jesus.

Do you remember all God’s done for you?

Keep Looking Up!
